Tim Tebow's Purity

Recently Heisman trophy winner Tim Tebow, quarterback of the National Champion University of Florida Gator Football Team declares that he is a virgin and is saving himself until marriage.

Tim's life is interesting, if not fascinating.  He grew up as a Christian missionary and has experienced Jesus Christ's love for the unloved first hand.  His roots and spiritual strength are pure and strong.  He wasn't a kid who lived Christianity at 50%.  No Tim's life and his family's life has been 100% in for the Lord.  In his young life, Tim also has seen enormous fame and with that fame comes temptation.   Tim however is so well grounded in his purpose and He trusts the plans that God has for him so much, He is willing to wait on God to provide that perfect bride at the perfect time.  You see with Tim, it's not a sign of his weakness, it's a sign of his strength.  Yes, his strength to trust God.  Is he enjoying life while staying pure?  Of course he is - his life is more fulfilling then most peoples and how often did you seen him in the media without a genuine smile on his face from ear to ear?  But you ask, what if he didn't have football and fame - would he still be smiling?  Well - it's clear that he would be just as joyful.  Tim draws his joy, his peace, and his purpose from God.  For Tim since he is living a life of purity, abstinence is very achievable and life is still filled with purpose and joy.

Tim is a great Christian witness.  He gets the big picture, he gets the eternal picture.

Truly put God first and watch what he does in your life.
Kevin Jonas gets engaged !! So what happens to his Purity Ring ??

Congratulations to Kevin Jonas and Danielle on their engagement !!   It is awesome to watch a young couple in love who are respecting each other and their relationship.  Their commitment to purity is an incredible example for others.  We are excited to witness their time of being engaged and their walk into matrimony.

Now we've had many questions about what happens to the purity ring during the engagement season of a young couples lives.  The answer is this -

When a couple gets engaged they still remain pure until marriage.  For the bride-to-be who just received a beautiful engagement ring - her purity ring is removed from her left ring finger and worn on her right ring finger until their wedding day.  On her wedding day, she takes the purity ring off.  For the groom-to-be, he continues to wear the purity ring on his left ring finger until their wedding day when he replaces the purity ring with his wedding ring.  It's special to pass their purity rings onto a single family member or friend, or even keep the purity rings in a safe place and years from now the couple can pass them on to their children and ask them to make the same vow.

Now a purity ring represents so much more than simply staying abstinent.  A purity ring symbolizes a single person's journey to have a pure mind, a pure heart, a pure soul.  It's having respect for others and yourself.  It's growing in faith and maturity to consistently strive to do the right thing and trust God.  As a teen makes the purity pledge and takes it seriously, years later as they move into young adulthood they will have the discernment to make great decisions (like choosing a marriage partner).

Again it's neat to see the true joy in Kevin's and Danielle's lives.  It's our hope and prayer for you too.  And no matter where you are in life today, you can make it a new day and a new beginning - always remember that with God all things are possible !!!
